How long should I plan to stay when visiting Gettysburg?

The Gettysburg CVB recommends three days to experience historic Gettysburg, the Gettysburg National Military Park, and all the fantastic attractions and stores throughout Gettysburg and Adams County.

What is the best airport to use when planning a visit to Gettysburg?

With the central location of our community, visitors can choose from Harrisburg International, Baltimore Washington International, Regan National, or Dulles International Airports.

How long will it take me to get to Gettysburg from Washington, DC?

We are only 90 minutes from the Nations' Capital.

I want to find out more information on a family member who fought at the Battle of Gettysburg. Where do I start?

There are several ways, including a service through the Gettysburg National Military Park and another through the Horse Soldier.

How many reenactments are there each year in Gettysburg?

Just one, hosted by the Gettysburg Anniversary Committee. The event is held as close to the anniversary dates of July 1-3 as possible. But, if you can't make that event, Living History Encampments are held April through October giving you a first-hand experience with Civil War soldiers.

Are the reenactments held on the Battlefields?

No, because the Gettysburg National Military Park is hallowed grounds, the reenactment is held on a private farm.

When will the new Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center Open?

April 14 will be the soft opening, with the Grand Opening to include the opening of the Cyclorama Painting September 26.
